The train

There are 11 carriages on board the Belmond British Pullman, each with its own charm and distinctive personality. Each Pullman carriage has been faithfully restored to its original glory and passengers will love their antique-style marquetry, vintage lighting and heritage upholstery. The Belmond British Pullman consists of Pullman coaches dating from the 1920s to 1950s. Each carriage has a rich history – for example, Minerva boasts fine Edwardian-style marquetry, Zena was used in the film Agatha while Perseus served as famed British Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s funeral train in 1965.

Why we love it

A trip on this unique train gives guests the chance to enjoy the romance of the golden era of train travel as well as enjoying all-inclusive five-star British fare, served in high class restaurant style. All the tables on board are dressed with elegant glasses, crisp linen and beautiful flowers and the carriages offer guests combinations of one, two or three-seat tables with some four-seat private compartments. You can even select a private compartment for two – perfect for proposing in unforgettable style. If you like to get dressed up the special ‘Chef on board trips’ are strictly black-tie affairs.
