A Guide to Hamburg Hauptbahnhof Station

Hamburg Hauptbahnhof Station (Hamburg Hbf) is the main railway station in Germany’s port city of Hamburg and is the second busiest railway station in Europe after Paris’ Gare du Nord. The station was built in 1906 to replace four separate terminal stations in the city and today serves an average of 555,000 passengers a day. The train serves both international and long and short distance domestic trains and is a main access point for Hamburg’s U-Bahn and S-Bahn rapid transit network.
