The train itself is comfortable, safe and cleaned to a good standard, offering guests seating in five different classes of travel;  First AC (air-conditioning), Second AC, Third AC, Sleeper, Pantry and Second Seating. First AC is the most premium way to travel with lockable four and two-berth compartments and a washbasin, while Second AC is divided into bays with curtains for privacy. For a more comfortable journey choose between First or Second AC. Mobile/laptop chargers are on hand and the train has a dining car selling drinks and food.

Why we love it

The train allows travellers to combine two very different Indian holidays in one adventure, buzzing, vibrant and chaotic Mumbai and a more laid-back, coastal Goa. For a daily train the Mandovi Express is impressively clean and well maintained and the scenery is like something from a Bollywood movie.
